Hugo Kornelis

Hugo Kornelis was a highly respected figure in the SQL Server community, a performance tuning expert, a teacher, a mentor, and a generous human who generously shared his knowledge with others. He was also a husband, father to two children, and a friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Thoughts and Memories from Friends

Hugo was a friend and someone who I always looked forward to spending time with at conferences and events. When I saw his trademark blond streak across the room, I smiled to myself, hoping that I’d have a chance to chat. We talked more about life and family than SQL Server, and I’ve always hoped that I’d have another opportunity to chat. My heart is heavy, and I’m saddened that such an wonderful person has left us far too soon. - Steve Jones
